| ABOUT THE STONEWARE CROCK The spirit of early American salt-glaze pottery is captured in Salmon Falls Stoneware (TM). The Pottery is made by local artisans at an old Engine House in Dover, NH. Each Pot is handmade, individually decorated with traditional or country design and fired in a gas kiln to 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit. The permanent finish of salt-glazed pottery results from the vaporization of the salt in the kiln during the final stage of firing. The charm of the ware is that each piece has its own individual character. Variations in color and design are desired and sought after by collectors. In any one firing the color of the pottery may vary from gray to brown. Each piece has an impression of the Salmon Falls Stoneware Logo (TM) and year of manufacture. |
Salmon Falls Stoneware (TM) is lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe. The pottery is ovenproof, although it should not be subjected to extreme changes in temperature. It's a great Country Collectable. |
